Platanthera ciliaris (Yellow fringed orchid)


Here are the photographic results of day one of a recent three-day trip to the Carolina coastal plain. I try to make it down there each mid-August to catch the fringed orchids in bloom. They were quite lovely and plentiful this year as were the many other wildflowers on the coastal plain.
