Probably at their peak. The light was a bit better this time, since it was not during the middle of the day.
These are native, terrestrial orchids that are frequently found along the Atlantic coastal plain. They are growing in my front yard bog garden along with pitcher plants, sundews, and Venus' fly-traps.

This is about the best it will get for the bog garden. They are beginning to turn brown at the bottom. They did as well as I could have expected, seeing as they were pulled up by the roots this time last year.

This composite photo shows the putative parent orchids and their progeny. Since both parent species generally bloom about the same time of the year, it is understandable how a pollinator might take pollen from one plant species and deposit it in another plant species of the same genus. The result can be a very handsome hybrid.
