Thanks Wendi! Grandpa played with the Indians in the Bush Stadium glory days. I plan to take a ladder along next time and shoot over the fence. It should also pickup the ball diamond shaped courtyard better too!

When I saw the thumbnail image and read the title about "Bush" stadium, I mistakenly read "Busch" and thought the thumbnail did indeed look like the new Busch Stadium. I wondered what would happen to the St. Louis Cardinals now? I stayed at a hotel that overlooked Busch Stadium just last year and didn't notice any housing projects being worked on. Then, when I came here to look, I realized it said "Bush" instead of "Busch." Ha ha!

I suppose progress everywhere is unavoidable, even if we don't necessarily want it.

Buildings have to have a purpose or they disappear all together.

Owen J. "Donie" Bush Stadium is the name of a former baseball stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was home to the Indianapolis Indians. It was also home to a few Negro League teams, as well as a Continental Football League team, the Indianapolis Capitols, who won the league championship in 1969.

The stadium started life as Perry Stadium, named for Norm Perry, the club owner who built it in 1931. It was renamed Victory Field in 1942 in reference to World War II. In 1967 the ballpark was sold to the city of Indianapolis. Later that same year it was renamed for former major league baseball player and Indianapolis native Donie Bush, who had served as president of the Indians from 1955 to 1969.[3]
