Er gehört auch zu den Nachtfaltern,beim Beobachten des Bodens habe ich ihn auch zufällig entdeckt,wie er so unter einen Grashalm sich ausgeruht hat!Er gehört zu den größeren Faltern mit einer Flügelspannweite von 72-92mm!Sein bizarres Aussehen täuscht in Ruhestellung übereinanderliegende, dürre Blätter vor. Er besitzt einen auffälligen weißen Punkt auf den blass grauen bis gräulich violetten mit dunklen Bändern versehenen Vorderflügeln.Nan sieht ihn in Auwädern und feuchten Waldrändern,seine Flugzeit ist von Anfang Mai bis August!So eine Entdeckung macht man auch nicht jeden Tag!!

C'est aussi l'un des papillons nocturnes, en observant le sol je l'ai découvert par hasard, se reposant sous un brin d'herbe. C'est l'un des plus gros papillons avec une envergure de 72-92 mm. Son apparence bizarre est trompeuse lorsqu'il se repose dessus ! les unes aux autres, feuilles sèches. Il a une tache blanche frappante sur ses ailes antérieures gris pâle à violet grisâtre avec des bandes sombres. On peut le voir dans les plaines inondables et à la lisière des forêts humides, sa période de vol s'étend de début mai à août. ça tous les jours !!
