A train of empty grain wagons, operated by Watco, travelling South past DownsSteam. Photographed here while standing on the long end of DS's recently acquired old diesel, currently up on blocks with the wheelsets/bogies removed. One bogie frame without wheels can be seen in undercoat grey on the yellow stands. The wheels are being prepared for milling to ensure they are all the same size and are the correct shape. I've spent most of my recent days here investigating and photographing the electricals of this loco. November 2024. See PiP for another view. HFF to my Ipernity viewers for 15/11/24 with multiple fences.

One of many small areas within the Bayon temple which is open to the sky. This building was modified at various times by different Angkor kings which seems to be the reason for many styles seen as one wanders around the site. September 2024. HWW for 16/10/24 to all who look here.

DownsSteam has bought a diesel hydraulic loco. This requires a bit of work, a year or two, but then will allow us to run loco hauled trains during fire bans and rescue any failure by a steam or railmotor train. The loco was originally owned by Queensland Rail but when no longer needed there was bought by Bundaberg Sugar for conversion from 3 foot 6 inch to 2 foot gauge but this never happened (the Mill operates a 2 foot gauge system which moves harvested sugar cane from the field to the mill during harvest season). Four members travelled here to prepare it for being craned onto a truck which carried it to Toowoomba the next day. This shot and the 2 PiPs were taken when we first arrived. October 2024

Two people seem happy to be here. HBM to my viewers for 14/10/2024 Memory Park at Hazelbrook in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney where we lived for a decade from 1977. There was children's play equipment then which our older ones enjoyed and an older style picnic table. The park area has also shrunk due to widening the highway above to the right. Also see the PiP.

This bottlebrush shrub/tree and another smaller one with it appeared in a plant pot of their own accord. I planted them out to a suitable place. The trunks are only 6" / 15cm apart due to the roots having intertwined themselves in the pot. The yellowness of this one is faded when viewed on my laptop but shows brilliantly on an extension screen. This is the first year it has flowered. See PiPs. September 2024.
