My only radio @ 8/2013, a Belcom LS-202E. I bought this in 1985 when I was first licenced, it was the latest and greatest then. Seen here in its usual home setup. It's running on 11.5VDC from a PC power supply and connected to a rooftop mounted home made ground plane antenna. The battery tray is partly visible behind the power plug.

I also had CBs from the late 70s, still have 2 or 3 under the house. This one here is for ham/amateur radio. I bought after getting my licence in the mid 80s but have not done much till recently as I worked in radio comms and other techy things. I hope to convert a CB to work on a ham radio band one day.

I guess affordable mobile phones solve most peoples comms needs and computer based gadgets are more trendy to play with than CBs these days.
