From the thumbnail, I expected to see a ship with a red sail! Far too fanciful, I know.

Actually, Bob, I could have been thinking about a red sail when I took it, The effect in the square is very sail-like.

Lovely light and some nice shadows.........and lots of lines and geometrical shapes. A real person in the shot too (I think) as well as a poster person!

A fascinating view as always John!

Thanks, Keith. I'm staying shtum about whether she's real or a poster person, because I liked that effect myself.

Keith's comment made me view large and long, looking for the person. :-) Very nicely composed, John.

An interesting perspective. If it's not Dundas what do they call it now?

Thanks, Andrew. The city wants people to call it Sankofa Square. The story is too complicated to sum up here, but the decision was based on an interpretation of history that is highly questionable. I could go on and on but won't. So far they seem to have had about as much success as Musk had in renaming Twitter.

They also wanted to rename Dundas Street, but couldn't find the money.

A good argument could have been made for taking Henry Dundas's name off the square, by the way, bit nobody made it.
