Re-Union at Fischer's

Ah, the days when no one was feeling under-dressed when wearing suspenders without a coat of some sort. I did wear a pair with blue jeans when I was younger and more fit, but that was a fashion statement, not an everyday dress code. Nostalgia.

These days, Bob, an outfit like the boy's would be more comme il faut.

A few years ago let's say !

There are a lot of 20s and 30s cars there, Léopold, but I suppose it could be the late 40s, too, when people were mainly driving prewar cars. The fellow on the right's shirt looks like a postwar item to me, too.

Themes and categories aside, this photo makes me think of the long-ago community picnics and reunions people used to have. Usually by a lake or river for maximum mosquito exposure. (I'm thinking of old South Dakota photos of my mother's.) Pies for days!

I have another shot somewhere of a long view of a big picnic out in the country, Diane. I'll see if I can find it.

Hi John - I think there's a mistake. Your photo has not been removed from the Vintage Photos Theme Park Theme group. it wouldn't be - it's a good fit!
And in all the years I've been in the group, I don't believe Alan has ever removed a photo for not fitting (he's very easygoing) even when occasionally I thought i should be done. : )

Thanks for letting me know, Deborah. I could have checked the group list myself before concluding that, but I didn;t. I think I was confusing Alan's page with the group page.

I did find it out of character that Alan hadn't let me know. I suppose that feeling should have got me to double-check.
