Modernist art! The elements could be from the fifties or sixties, and so could the colors. Neat!

Thanks, Stoker. I'm a fan of Pop Art, and I think its influence shows up a lot in photos I take.

Yes, I'm a great fan of the genre too, it was such a breath of fresh air when I first came across it, what a change from the dark, formal old masters I'd been brought up on until then.

It had much the same effect on me, Stoker. Bright colours, new types of composition, depictions of things from actual everyday life. Much later I read Bradford Collins' opinion that the Pop artists were the first to realize that modern iconography was no longer religious or political, but commercial.

And it was a breath pf fresh air. There are people these days arguing that art ended with Beaux-Arts painting, but that style was so orderly and organized that to me it provided no interest or inspiration at all. No doubt it had been stimulating at one time, but everything had been done with it that could be done. The same could be said of abstract expressionism. The Pop artists were like Miles Davis, who freed bop from the dead end it had driven itself into.

And I've posted a tribute to Andy Warhol.
