Stock Yards Village. It is not a stockyard, it is nowhere near a stockyard, and it is not a village. They want to confuse us.

OK, there used to be a big stockyard across the street, but it was demolished in 1994, long before there was a Stock Yards Village.

A man in a rush! Having spent some time around stockyards I can see the resemblance with the confined corridors further back and the lines designed to guide movement.

Thanks, Bob. As I recall, they were all together and heading for the Old Navy (I went by them om my way to the dollar store).

It's very efficiently designed, too, José, except for being an open shopping centre in a city with harsh winters (not compared to the rest of Canada, but compared to most places). Nevertheless, they have minimized exposure to the weather.

They also suffered from their original anchor store being a Target, Target (an American retail chain) swept into Canada thinking they'd wipe out the competition just by being there; After two years they closed up shop and went home licking their wounds. So the big store sat empty for a few years, but they now have a tenant that seems to be successful,

An interesting point, George, Thanks. This place is designed so finding your way around is easy.
