Somewhat Escher-esque. If I look at the dark line at the right I can see it either running in at the top, or out. Probably over hdr-ing it would make it more like a sketch, and emphasize that effect, but do little for it as a photograph.

Thanks, Bob. I did want to keep the shadows dark, so HDR probably wouldn't have helped. I tried a touch of local tone mapping but it didn't hrlp.
