Eine der mächtigen Karstquellen ist die Source du Doubs. Hier entspringt der Fluß am Fuße der Bergkette des Mont Risoux und schüttet im Durchschnit 1740 liter pro Sekunde aus seinem Quelltopf. Gespeist wird der 5 Meter tiefe Topf aus mehreren unterirdischen Grundwasserleitern, die in einem Karstgebirge des Jura-Gebirges üblich sind.
