Die Automobliwerke AwtoWAS aus Togliatti produzierten seit 1969 den PKW-Typ WAS, der anfangs in einigen Ländern des RGW und der Sowjetunion Shiguli hieß. Ab 1974 wurden dann die Exportfahrzeuge Lada genannt. Ab 1982 gab es den WAS-2107, der hier im Bild als Einsatzfahrzeug der Volkpolizei der DDR zu sehen ist.
