Von dem selben Fotostandpunkt, wie für dieses Bild, führen die Serpentinen weiter bergauf zur Passhöhe. Oben auf der Hochebene befindet sich noch der Stausee Lac du Mont-Cenis. Übrigens wurde dieser Pass schon im Jahre 31 von Kaiser Konstantin I. überquert, als er gegen Maxentius in die Schlacht an der Milvischen Brücke zog.
