Der Pylon der Alamillo-Brücke ist 142 Meter hoch und besteht aus vorgefertigeten Stahlsegmenten. Für die erforderliche statische Masse, um alle Kräfte der 26 Schrägseile aufzunehmen, wurde er komplett mit Beton ausgefüllt. Im oberen Teil der Brücke sollte im sogenannten "Pferdekopf" eine Aussichtsplattform begehbar sein. Diese ist aber seit dem Bau der Brücke geschlossen. Eigentlich schade drum.
