Von Barcelonnette aus bis zum Col de la Cayolle führt die D9022 durch das enge Tal des Flüßchen Bachelard. Ab dieser 1901 gebauten Brücke wird die Straße dann sehr schmal und unübersichtlich. Sie verläuft nun sehr kurvenreich und eng an den Felswänden entlang.
