Hallo Volker, in Wikipedia steht: "Die Lokomotiven ... waren bis Mai 1968 vorrangig im Raum München eingesetzt. Anschließend waren sie in Osnabrück beheimatet, wo sie bis zum Ende des Winterfahrplans 1979/80 noch in einem eigenen Umlauf eingesetzt wurden und vorwiegend von Münster aus Nahverkehrszüge und Eilzüge bespannten. Also kann deine Erinnerung stimmen!

Lutz, Du hast in Berlin bestimmt die E 44 gesehen. www.eisenbahn-museumsfahrzeuge.com/index.php/deutschland/staatsbahnfahrzeuge/elektrolokomotiven/baureihe-e-44/e-44-131 Ist ja auch eine äußerliche Ähnlichkeit da. Von der E 04 gibt es nur noch 4 erhaltene Exemplare. Davon ist keins in Berlin. Leipzig, Weimar, Staßfurt und diese Maschine hier in Frankfurt. ;-)

No it is just an exhibition composition of this loco and one coach in front of the national railway's (Deutsche Bahn) officie buildings. The "track" is as long as the "train". So, "preservation" in this case is not much more than painting the outside ;-)
