Cocking Tor, Ashover

Originally uploaded for the Guesswehere UK group
This a view SE over the Amber valley taken from Cocking Tor, near Ashover, Derbyshire. In the distance is the Ogston Reservoir and the small but well defined hill, Ashover Hay. Nottingham is just visible in the haze on the distant skyline.
Cocking Tor is an airy slab of Ashover Grit (Namurian), with a vertiginous drop on two sides.
Panoramic view from two portrait-orientation shots stitched together using Canon's Photostich software.
