Ashover from the north east escarpment
The beautiful village of Ashover, Derbyshire nestles in the valley of the River Amber. Escarpments of Ashover Grit all around enhance the sheltered bowl-like setting for the village.
I was especially struck by the light and colours of the fresh foliage on this lovely Spring morning.
Stone Edge information plate
This plate is set into a stone plinth near the base of the Stone Edge chimney.
Amber skyscape
Clouds and sunlit fields viewed SE over the River Amber valley taken from the old Gregory lead mine site, near Ashover, Derbyshire. In the distance is the Ogston Reservoir and the small but well defined hill on the right is Ashover Hay.
