Guðmundur Jónasson R 345 at Nýidalur working their ‘Highland Bus’ service – 24 July 2002 (492-19)

Wednesday 24 July 2002 - Guðmundur Jónasson is primarily a tour operating company but the company operated a tourist orientated ‘Highland Bus’ service between Reykjavík and Lake Myvatn once weekly for just a few weeks in mid-summer. R 345 was seen at Nýidalur, a remote spot in the centre of Iceland approximately mid-way between available fuel stations, 110km going south or 133km going north. There are just three buildings here, two accommodation cabins and one toilet/shower cabin. Everyone must bring their own food as no public catering exists over the route.
