Chaffinch affected with Fringilla Papilloma Virus

FPV is often confused with "Ulcerative pododermatitis, aka bumblefoot
This is an infection with bacteria, usually staph aureus - the same bug that causes many
soft tissue infections in humans. Same group of bugs as MRSA reistant staph.
Bumblefoot is common in guinea pigs, and raptors, and caged birds.
Presents as shiny swollen lumps, especially on the
soles which may ulcerate. Should respond to Antibiotics." (Thank you, Google!)
