********
THIS IS ALL WHAT REMAINS OF THE CASTLE... it is only a memory today. This round tower still stands in the middle of the park, surrounded by a double moat now filled in, the only vestige of a feudal castle that was built in the 15th century. The ravages of the 100-Years-War contributed to its destruction. There are very few elements left to retrace its history, and the mystery of the tower becomes all the greater.
Called the "Eugène Sue Tower" after an anecdote from the local lore (the writer Eugène Sue -1804-1857- would have written his novel "The Wandering Jew" on the first floor of this tower, then forwarding his writings to his journal by the diligence of Paris)..
