Ruins of a bygone era...
The ruines of "BOIS-FROU", stand alone among the meadows that once were sumptuous gardens, now they open the doors of imagination to restore a disappeared mansion...

The origins of this castle date back to the 14th century, then transformed into a Renaissance style castle after the 100 Years War. At this time it was decorated with beautiful water gardens.

During works in 1966, two sarcophagi are discovered, one of which contains an embalmed heart!

Thanks Mario, oh no, it's a long time already, I think it was since the 17th century that the castle slowly decayed. Why exactly I don't know. Anyway, it's a pity, but I suppose it was too expensive to keep it in good condition...

J'adore les vieilles pierres, elles ont une histoire, voire même un mystère comme ce coeur embaumé qui a été retrouvé. Peut-être saurons nous un jour à qui il appartenait ! Certainement quelqu'un d'important de la haute noblesse ou une personne royale ???
Dur de rester enfermée, mais je l'étais déjà l'année dernière, alors je suis habituée !!! LOL !

Merci Marie-Claire. Moi aussi, j'adore ces vieilles pierres qui pourraient raconter plein d'histoires. En ce qui concerne le coeur embaumé, je crois que l'on a jamais su à qui il appartenait, le mystère reste entier !
Actuellement, c'est vraiment la chance d'avoir une maison en pleine campagne avec un grand jardin, le travail ne manque pas (hier j'ai passé la tondeuse). Je pense bien à toi, prends soin de toi. Grosses bises.

Merci Pascal, moi aussi. C'était notre dernière sortie juste avant le "confinement". Maintenant nous profitons du beau temps et travaillons dans le jardin... Bon courage à toi et reste en bonne santé.

Thanks Peter, that would be really great. I do not know if it is possible, because today the ruins and the meadows are part of a farm. They allow people to visit, but normally there are cows grazing between the ruins...
