We hadn't see the actual Kelpies before this so I wasn't expecting them to be so big and impressive. HFF and have a good weekend

Thank you very much Percy. Really appreciated. The 'bridge' in the background is the Falkirk Wheel, a really amazing type of boat lift. These small replicas of the Kelpies are only a fraction of the size of the real thing, - but it was good to see them here. HFF and have a lovely weekend.

I have photographed the Kelpie Maquettes in Edinburgh and at two locations in Glasgow. I had the pics on Panoramio, which is sadly no more. I know the maquettes have been displayed in St Andrews, but I missed them there. There is a Kelpies Maquettes webpage. Cheers, Joe

Thank you very much Karen. Really appreciated. They are massive horses' heads, like these smaller versions but 30m tall, created by Andy Scott. They have a door at the base and you can go inside them. Kelpies are mythical equine creatures said to inhabit the lochs of Scotland.

Thank you Guni. They are 'miniatures' of the huge kelpies I have previously posted and the Falkirk wheel is behind them. Somewhere I have a photo of them in the car park here with a motorbike parked between them! That is extra horsepower I think!!!!!
