Es geht eine Träne auf Reisen - A tear goes on its journey

Dieffenbachien sind Pflanzen, welche vornehmlich in Mittelamerika heimisch sind und dort auch an schattigen Standorten gedeihen. Deswegen werden sie bei uns gerne als Zimmerpflanzen verwendet. Aber Achtung: Berührungen mit dem Saft der Blätter kann wegen des in ihnen enthaltenen Calciumoxalats zu Hautreaktionen führen!
Mehrere Dieffenbachien stehen in meinem Wohnzimmer und mir fiel auf, dass an einigen Blättern Guttationstropfen (Wassertropfen, welche von den Blättern abgesondert werden) hingen. Ein Blattende mit einem Guttationstropfen habe ich abgelichtet.

Dieffenbachias are plants that are mainly native to Central America and thrive there even in shady locations. That is why we like to use them as houseplants. But beware: touching the sap of the leaves can cause skin reactions because of the calcium oxalate they contain!
Several Dieffenbachs are in my living room and I noticed that guttation drops (drops of water secreted by the leaves) were hanging from some of the leaves. I have photographed the end of a leaf with a guttation drop.
