The Trail >>Over<< the Mountain

Sometimes the clouds came down while climbing to the summit. It needs a lot of confidence in the weather report. Ever and anon the visibility is clear, but only down. Obove the cluds were hanging like the ceiling of a room. It's a very strange feeling!

Manchmal waren wir beim Aufstieg völlig von Wolken umhüllt. Da brauchte es viel Vertrauen in die Richtigkeit des Wetterberichts. Minuten später war dann wieder völlig klare Sicht - allerdings nur nach unten. Über uns hingen die Wolken dann wie eine Zimmerdecke. Ein sehr eigenartiges Gefühl ist das!

Liebe Christine, wir haben zwar die Nummer der Italienischen Bergrettung auf unserem Berg-Klapphandy (Smartphones sind im Notfall untauglich!), aber in Italien möchte ich noch weniger in Not geraten als in Österreich. Außerdem hilft ein Heli in solchen Situationen gar nichts: Die fliegen nämlich nur auf Sicht!
Hier muss man schon wissen, was man tut. Vor allen sich immer gut sichern. In der Full-Screen-Darstellung erkennst Du vielleicht gerade noch das Sicherungs-Stahlseil, das fix über den Fels gespannt ist.
