I like this one the best. I think the blue of the sky is a distraction ... if the church is the main focus of the image.

I like both images, but I agree with Norm, the black and white version is more effective for emphasizing the church :-)

There is a lot going on above the church between the tree branches, clouds, and blue sky. Each would be a wonderful addition to the image on their own, but as a group they overshadow the church. I thought by taking out the blue it made the other two a little less powerful and the church a little stronger. Sometimes ... less is more. :-)

Turning overdone HDR into black and white does not make any difference to me. Except... Perhaps more dramatic and therefore would be excellent material on some horror movie advertisement.
