1993 Audi Coupé 2.6E - K688 CAJ

This gorgeous Audi Coupé passed me yesterday whilst I was out on my bike in Northallerton. Luckily, it parked up in one of the nearby streets so I was able to get some decent photos of it.
Better still, I got to talk to the owner, a lovely old chap called Peter who it turns out has had this car from new. It has less than 72,000 miles on the clock and, as hopefully the photos show, it is in superb condition for a car that's now over 21 years old.
Paint is actually pearlescent white, which was an optional extra back in 1993 that added around £1,200 to the price of the car.
I did ask if he might ever sell it, but apparently his grandson has eyes on it and so will most likely be staying in the family when the owner finally stops driving.

autofantasia club has replied to mobycatAfter a 16 year gap and with no design cues whatsoever to hark back to the earlier models they really should have let it go. You just need to look at how other manufacturers handled reinventing earlier icons to see how to do it better (Mini, Fiat 500, and the Beetle being good examples). Shame VW couldn't have done better! :(
