Piano Grande

The Piano Grande (Great Plain) is a large plateau, 4,000 ft above sea level in the central Italian Apennine mountains. The Piano is flanked by the Sibilline group of mountains (Italian Monti Sibillini), the highest of which is Monte Vettore at 8,123 ft (2,476m). The Piano is a karstic basin (see under karst) composed of porous limestone that holds underground reserves of water, and it supports an astonishing array of wild flowers in the spring and summer. Its single village, Castelluccio (Norcia), is perched on a high rock in the middle of plateau, and is famous for the small delicate lentils which are grown in the surrounding plain.

YES this are fantastastique ... but ...
So far I have not been able to visit this landscape and Castelluccio again after the big earthquake

Ja ich liebte diese Gegend ganz besonders und war öfter dort - aber es war mir bisher nicht möglich diese Landschaft und Castelluccio nach dem großen Erdbeben erneut zu besuchen...

Ich sah diese Gegend vor vielen, vielen Jahren - noch zur Zeit der analogen Fotografie -das erste Mal und war fasziniet. und es hat mich immer wieder in dies Gegen gezogen. Aber als 2016 das große Erdbeben war - und ich nur bis Norcia gekommen bin und das Beben dort erlebt habe , bin ich nie wieder in diese Gegen gewesen , weil die Strassen gesperrt gewesen waren

eine Landschaft, die ich sehr liebe und in der ich öfter gewesen bin - leider war es nach dem großen Erdbeben Ende Oktober 2016 für mich nicht mehr möglich dorthin zu reisen... Und in diesem Jahr sieht auch bereits wieder düster aus ;-((
