Ganz furchtbar! Ich hoffe, das verbleibende Bauwerk kann stabilisiert werden. Das erinnert mich an die Glasgow School of Art, die nach gleich 2 verheerenden Bränden wahrscheinlich nicht mehr gerettet werden kann- weniger bekannt, aber architektonisch fast genauso bedeutsam.

Ich hätte es aber noch viel schlimmer gefunden, wenn es ein Terroranschlag gewesen wäre.

Such a tragedy. I've been following the story on the news.

It seems that the damage, whilst catastrophic, is not as bad as first feared............and there seems to be a great determination to return it to it's former glory!

Bad situation. Anyway, I am confident Notre Dame will be rebuilt perfectly, even if it will never be the same as the former one. The ancient roof,as an example, can't be rebuilt with 800 years old wood. CIAO, Gastone.
