This reminds me of the Christmas dinner when my auntie poured gravy over the Christmas pudding, thinking she had the jug of brandy sauce . . . :-)

Thanks all for the comments, it was a very long time ago, but my memory is that the gravy was scraped off, and the pudding eaten. Still often gets a mention during Christmas dinner . . .
