JEAN-LOUIS LASALLE -Baritone (.Lyon, December 10, 1845 or 14 February 1847 - September 07, 1909). Father of Robert Lassalle tenor. Student at Paris Concervatoire and later a pupil of Novelli.He made his first appearance on stage as St Bris in "Les Huguenot's" at Liege in 1868. During the next 4 years he sang at Lille , Toulouse , Brussels and the Hague . Debuted at the Opera on 09 June 1872 , as Nelusko "L'Africane". There he took part in many world premieres as Scindia in Massenet's "La Roi De Lahore" 1877 , Severe in Gounod's "Polyeucte" 1878 ,Ben Said in Gounod's "Le Tribute de Zamora ' 1880 ,Malatesta in Thomas's 'Francoise de Rimini" 1880 , and in 1183 the title role of Saint Saens "Henry VIII". He sang at Covent Garden 1879 , 1880 and 1881 and again between 1883-1891.In 1891 he made his Metropolitan Debut as Nelusko in Meyerbeer's "L'Africane". He sang Carmen (Escamillo) at the Opéra-Comique on December 11, 1890, for the erection of the monument to the memory of Bizet.

Born into a musical family, Patti studied the piano in her youth before following her younger sister's inclination toward singing. As a child, Carlotta developed a handicap which caused a noticeable limp in her walk. Due to this condition she mostly avoided operatic performances and preferred to sing on the concert stage. While not able to achieve her sister's level of acclaim, Carlotta nonetheless received top billing in concerts in the United States of America, Great Britain, and Australia. She was known for her extensive vocal range, reportedly being able to reach a G sharp in altissimo.[4] She often sang songs such as Der Hölle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen that highlighted this extensive range. Carlotta Patti died of cancer in Paris on 27 June 1889.

ENRICO TAMBERLICK (1820-1889). Tenor The Italian (or possibly Romanian) tenor Enrico Tamberlick (sometimes spelt Tamberlik or Tamberlinck) was born on 16 March 1820. He made his début at Rome in December 1837, and performed at Covent Garden regularly from 1850 to 1864, and then again in 1870. One of the first tenors to reach a high ‘C’, he also appeared in New York, Paris, Madrid and St. Petersburg. He interpreted the operas of Berlioz, Rossini and Verdi; on 10 November 1862 in St. Petersburg he created the role of Don Alvaro in Verdi’s La Forza del Destino. Enrico Tamberlick died on 13 March 1889.

Her success there led to engagements with the Paris Opéra, and later in London. From 1876 she worked with the Carl Rosa Opera Company during their UK tours and in Scotland over a ten-year period sang roles ranging from Carmen and Manon to Marguerite] In 1877, she was engaged by the Max Strakosch Opera Company and made her American debut on 8 January 1878 in Philadelphia as Leonora in Donizetti's La favorita. She later toured the United States with the Carl Rosa Opera Company from 1883 to 1889 and was particularly noted for her interpretation of the title role Bizet's Carmen. In 1890, she taught singing in Paris and made her farewell tour in 1894.

Karl Scheidemantel as Alfio "Cavaleria Rusticana" Mascagni KARL SCHEIDEMANTEL (29 January 1859 – 26 June 1923) German baritone His supporters were Bodo Borchers in Weimar, well known voice teacher Julius Stockhausen in Frankfurt, and composer Franz Liszt. At the age of 25 he joined the ensemble of the Dresden Hofoper where he was named Kammersänger, "Chamber Singer to the Saxon Grand Duke" in 1884. He sang at the 1886, 1888, 1891, and 1892 Bayreuth festivals. He sang at most of the great European opera houses, especially the Vienna State Opera, where in April and May 1890 he sang the roles of Heiling, Renato, Zampa, Wolfram, Luna and, Sachs. He was a guest singer at La Scala in 1892. His final career appearance was on 8 June 1911 as Hans Sachs. Scheidemantel sang over 170 roles in his career. Notably, he created the role of Herr von Faninal in Richard Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier in 1911.

MEDEA MEI FIGNER (1859–1952), Italian mezzo-soprano, later soprano Studied with Bianchi, Carozzi-Zucchi and Panofka. Sang the mezzo-soprano role in Verdi's Requiem at the young age of 16, made her operatic debut soon afterwards, as Azucena in Il trovatore, at Sinaluga.Her repertoire then included Ulrica in Un ballo in maschera, Amneris in Aida, Gertrude in Ambroise Thomas's Hamlet, Leonora in Donizetti's La favorite, and the title role in Bizet's Carmen. She latter added soprano roles such as Charlotte in Massenet's Werther, and Margherita in Boito's Mefistofele.

"This famous tenor of the Italians, and a moment of the Opera, was the son of the Italian general marquis of Candia." When starting at the Opera that he took the name of Mario, he was both exemplified since. After a long time living with the famous singer Giulia Grisi, who died in 1869, he eventually married her, when she became the widow of her first husband. They had six children .
