German Soprano
Studied Dresden Conservatory with the famous soprano and music educator Aglaja Orgeni . Debut 1894 (as Mistress Ford in " The Merry Wives of Windsor "by Otto Nicolai ) and received in the same year her first engagement at the Court Opera in Dresden , Participated in the premiere of the opera The beauty of Fogaras of Alfred Grünfeld , and in the premiere of the opera Hänsel und Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck . After leaving the Dresden Court Opera in 1909, followed by appearances mainly as a concert singer. Erika Wedekind was one of the first coloratura sopranos of Germany and was an outstanding representative of their field. She performed in Germany, Prague, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Budapest, Stockholm, Paris and London
