Her father was a native of Germany, from a minor noble family, and her mother was the daughter of William Dimmitt, an early Illinois pioneer and one of the first settlers of Bloomington.
Both parents were musically talented, younger sister of Marie Litta (Marie Eugenia Von Elsner ) 1856-1883.Performed mainly in Comic opera , Sang with the Von Elsner Opera Company, Hess Acme Opera Co and McCaull Opera Company touring the USA . Sang in "Faust" by Gounod , "Boccaccio" by von Suppe ,"Die Fledermaus" by Strauss ,"The Chimes of Normandy" by Planquette, "Les noces d'Olivette" by Audran , "Patience" by Gilbert & Sullivan and "The Widow by Lavallee "
