warthog family

We had a much closer brush with one of these on the trail back from viewing Victoria Falls. A bunch of us were on the trail when we came across one rooting in the dirt at trail side. After a bit of discussion we decided to either be brave or foolhardy and passed it on the other side of the trail. It ignored us.
The ones around Victoria Falls are not tame, by any means, but they are probably used to people being around, and don't react unless they feel threatened. The ones in this picture are not used to people, and were best viewed, as we did, from the back of a safari vehicle. They can be mean, and dangerous.
