Louis, the Wells Cathedral Cat

Louis is a ginger tom hunting mice in Wells cathedral. His favourite place is a basket in the gift shop but here we met him in the market place. He barely suffered the girls' interest and quickly disapperaed again;-)

Das ist ja eine tolle Geschichte, Gudrun! Ich habe den "Ginger Tom" bereits 1993 in der Kathedrale von Canterbury getroffen - oder war es sein Urahn ;-) ???. Es saß auf einer Kirchenbank und putzte sich. Ich traute meinen Augen nicht. Anscheinend fühlen sich die englischen Katzen in den Kathedralen wohl.

Danke, Uli! Ja gell, Louis ist schon eine "Marke":-) Ich glaube, früher hatten alle Kirchen eine Katze wegen der Mäuse- manche haben Katzenklappen, die aus der Bauzeit der Kirchen stammen. Canterbury scheint die Tradition auch fortzusetzen:-))
