Neko Harbour

Neko Harbour
Neko Harbour is an inlet of Andvord Bay on the western coast of Graham Land. It was the only point where we set foot on Antarctic mainland, all the other landing places were on islands.
Our expedition ship MS Polar Star can be seen anchored in the bay.

Was muss das für eine spektakuläre Reise gewesen sein, Gudrun! Um dieses Erlebnis beneide ich Dich, obwohl wir unglaublich viele und schöne Reisen gemacht haben.

Großen Dank, Uli! Heute wäre das kaum noch bezahlbar- ich bin froh, das damals gemacht zu haben. Es war unvergesslich! Das Schiff rostet leider irgendwo vor sich hin, die Reederei ist seit Jahren pleíte:-(

Was für ein grandioses Foto, Gudrun, sowohl landschaftlich, wie stimmungsmäßig als auch farblich. Auf diesem Bild sehe ich jetzt eindeutig, dass es sich um ein richtiges Schiff handelt! Auf einigen Fotos zuvor - vom Aussichtspunkt mit den vielen Menschen - sah es nämlich so klein wie ein Spielzeugschiff aus! ;-)

Besten Dank, Stevia! Das war ein Traumtag it Traumwetter:-) Das Schiff ist nicht sehr groß gewesen, also genau richtig. Alles mit mehr als 100 Paxen ist für die Antarktis viel zu groß dann darf man nicht mehr gleichzeitig an Land und wartet den halben Tag rum...
