Thriplow: Manor House (27 Middle Street) 2012-04-01

From SE. Dated 1563 internally, the older section being the surviving part of a larger house, but the two gables belong to late C17 extensions which, according to the Buildings of England, "may be the work of Dr Humphrey Gower, Master of St John's College Cambridge, who bequeathed the house to his college as vacation retreat for his successors".
