Insomnia

Insomnia
Opinion left by HKF on 18 July, 2004 at the website www.photographyreview.com regarding the Tamron 70-210mm F/2.8 LD SP (67D) autofocus lens. This lens was in production between 1992 and 2003. HKF gave it four stars out of five whereas most other reviewers awarded the full five stars, perhaps because they owned it and didn't want to admit to any poor judgment on their part (or were keen to keep its value buoyant).
I own this lens. I bought it for a song on eBay very early on a Monday morning during September, 2016. This is one of the few - maybe the only - benefits of insomnia.

Technical details: I copied HKF's contribution to the discussion and pasted it into a word processing program. I changed the font to Courier (a typewriter style), increased the size and made it all bold. Then I converted it into a PDF which I took a screenshot of and opened the screenshot in the Paintbrush program. For amusement I made all the lower-case 'o's have red centres and greyed out the white background. Then I changed it to a smaller size and exported it as a JPG. The resulting image was uploaded to ipernity.

I like the phrase “your naked eyes”. Rather than use my own imagination I Googled the name, and, as I had expected, found that it had been used by an eighties New Wave band; their first hit was a cover of Bert Bacharach’s “Always Something There To Remind Me”. That’s better than anything I could have conjured up myself.

Yet another interesting fact for my over-crowded brain to absorb and catalogue, and then cross-reference to Burt Bacharach. I was too busy in the 1980s to absorb New Wave; so much to catch up on.

I've caught up on Naked Eyes via YouTube. Aw, sad video. But not the zap to the heart that 'Missing' is by Everything But The Girl.
