Pelican crossing on a relief road that divides a whole street community, Steps lead down to it on both sides - not too good for the old and infirm. For years the greater part of the community was separated from its local pub by the new road. Later the pub was closed, which might or might not have happened anyway. Our dependence on motorised transport has turned us into vandals.
