The Limbo Connection club has replied to John FitzGerald clubI imagine "donut" became popular as a way to trademark names (e. g., Mr. Donut, Dunkin' Donuts) for the generic doughnut. Now, what gets my goat is the apostrophe in Dunkin'. But again maybe it was easier to get a trademark that way..
Oh -- what really gets my goat: "one-year anniversary". Aaaaaagh!!
