Canon EOS 30D and Carl Zeiss Jena 50mm f/2.8 lens. I have isolated and elongated the statue of the soldier and over-exposed the figure to suggest mist. I remain to be convinced that there is any glory in being killed on a battlefield. Perhaps the word is used in an attempt to help the bereaved.

Tributes poured in this afternoon following the announcement of the death of Civic Pride. Mr Pride had been suffering from lassitude for several years and his passing had been expected as his will weakened and his grip on his responsibilities was surrendered. Carl Zeiss Jena 50mm f/2.8 lens on a Canon EOS 30D. An all-manual experience. I had but a single focal length to work with on this occasion: 50mm on the 30D provides a field of view equivalent to 80mm on full frame or 35mm film camera. Had I had a standard zoom lens attached instead I would have used a wider aspect. There is something to be said for the challenge of one prime lens.
