Lousal - Megalithic sites

The Lousal 1 and Lousal 2 megalithic sites are located to the west of the hamlet of Lousal.
Lousal 1 is a tholos tomb, a double chamber. It has a round chamber whose oval side chamber is connected by a straight corridor. The round chamber has a diameter of around 2.0 metres. The entrance is about 2.0 metres long. Next to the round chamber is an oval structure. Traces of the original tumulus are recognisable. The tholos was erected around 2000 BC and used until around 1700 BC.
Lousal 2 is a rectangular stone cist. The dimensions are approximately 2.3 × 1.15 metres.
