Palazuelos - Castillo de Palazuelos

Palazuelos is a village about 7 km northwest Sigüenza.

The village has a medieval urban structure that still remains within the walls of the 15th-century fortified complex. The walls completely surround the village and stretch for just over a kilometer. They are built of strong mortar and blocks. Three of the four gates that provide access are double portals reinforced by cubes.

The castle was built by the Marquis of Santillana. It was accessible from the town via a door with a drawbridge.
