Already within the 10th century a priory existed here, dependent from famous Cluny. The single nave church of today dates probably to the 12th century, when the priory was depending from Saint Saturnin du Port in Pont-Saint-Esprit (30 km south west).

On the lintel of the bricked up side portal are two barrels.

The region is known for wine ("Côtes du Rhône"). Gigondas,
Vacqueyras, Châteauneuf-du-Pape are just about 40 kms south.
