HWH - local hospital

Postcard / montage of the old Haltwhistle War Memorial Hospital.
This Edwardian villa style building [Greencroft House] became the town hospital in 1922, a maternity wing was born in 1939 and in 1948 the hospital became part of the NHS.
The War Memorial in front of the building is grade II listed.

As medical practices changed and developed over the years, the villa was demolished and modern (ugly) design building constructed on the site in 2014.
