I take it that Desmond was the name given to the storm.
I took the trouble to visit the linked information source and saw that like us you now name storms, we began a little earlier with Allan, Bodil also a system using alternate male - female names. Gorm is one I blogged about at the time.

If you look at one of the low water images for the Arches, you can see the concrete bedding to protect against scouring damage.
