Panic was published by E.C. comics, who also published a similar and better-known satire comic called Mad Comics, which eventually became Mad Magazine. Like most E.C. comics of the day, Panic featured four stories by comic art heavyweights like Bill elder, Jack Davis, and the great Wally Wood.

Panic is one of a handful of titles that E.C. published after the Comics Code Authority (C.C.A.) was established, usually designated as their short-lived "New Direction" titles. The C.C.A. effectively did away with the more popular E.C. books like Tales from the Crypt and The Vault of Horror.

This issue features a spoof of Rex Morgan entitled "Rx Migrane M.D." by Bill Elder as well as Jack Davis' look at the American drive-in theatre. The cover is of course a take-off on the popular celebrity rag of the day, Confidential. Great stuff.

Panic issue No. 9 - July 1955.
