Waiting to be moved to the paintshop, this ex-Great Western Railway goods wagon has been given new bogies, buffers, and corridor connections, and now looks something like the original vehicle, or it will, when it has been painted!
Seen in the goods yard of the imaginary English town of Newton Saint Aldwyn, my 1/76th scale model railway which I am slowly converting to radio control operation. I will probably never finish it, but it's fun trying to adapt new technology - keeps the "little grey cells" from dying too soon !!

Then, when I was a teenager I dreamed about having a bike.
None of them came true.
Now my fingers are too clumsy for the first one.
But I still love those little jewels of mancraft :)
Mikeinlagardette has replied to Marta Wojtkowska clubYes, there is something fascinating about miniatures - it doesn't matter what- but you know trains are a special interest for me !!
Fondest, Mike
When I was a child I had a Lima (poor child model train, no Rivarossi or Märklin!).
Mikeinlagardette has replied to giovanegianWell, in fact this model was made by Lima ! They made many locomotive and rolling stock models of British prototypes in 1/76 scale, and they are still in business in Vicenza, I think it is called ViTrains now,
Although it is more than 20 years old, the body moulding of this Siphon G is very accurate, but the chassis is terrible - wrong sizes of wheels, wrong bogies, wrong buffers, incorrect wheel centres, etc, but when this has all been corrected, it makes a nice model !
It is what I do when I'm not taking photos - or toiling in the garden ;-( !!
Ciao, Mike
