This year... I bought a Poppy from the Tower Of London installation

"Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red"

This morning... 11-11-2014 ... the final Poppy of the 888,246 handmade Poppies was "planted"

I only found out this morning you could buy these poppies.... do you actually get it? or are you just 'donating' the money.. I want a poppy like that... well actually several. I read a bunch about it today I have seen pictures and stuff, but never know the story behind it except it was to remember those that gave their lives.

Thanks Pam, I found this site this morning... the poppies are all gone, sold out. Do they send the ones they have used (I think that would be so very meaningful)...
I have friends over there and I find if they ship me stuff rather than a company... it's much cheaper. I love that the poppy money goes to something good, postal money, not so much!

Yes Wendi... the Poppies sent are the ones you see at the Tower. I also thought this was so meaningful.

And yes.. I actually got my friend in UK to buy and ship... it was cheaper .. but not alot. These days(and I ship alot) its almost no difference.

BUT.. well over £15,000,000 is going to wonderful causes.

I just want to go HOME.

I hate the yoyo weather.. it was 70 on Saturday ! Suspecting snow/ice at the weekend ! I do cold far better than hot.. but ........ !!

I'm not a real fan of winter and am already eager for spring, but we have it made here with very mild winters and if we want the snow we can go up in the mountains, which we do for snowshoeing and skiing.
